My journey with film and videography truly began as a hobby in the summer of 2017 when I bought the Canon 80D. It was the first camera that allowed me to cut my teeth on the fundamentals of video.

After over a year of working in video full-time, I have had the opportunity to work on numerous professional and personal projects including; over 20 weddings, a variety of short-form branding films, and travel videos. Although a large chunk of my film experience is run-and-gun with Sony mirrorless DSLRs, I have had the opportunity to work on a Red Dragon X 5K, both handheld and supported by the DJI Ronin 2, and the DJI Inspire 2 paired with the Zenmuse X7.

Below is a small collection of film work that I have produced recently.

2019 - 2020 SHOWREEL

My 2019 - 2020 showreel is a collection of what I believe to be my best shots from the past year that show a standard and variety of work I am capable of. I have been fortunate enough to work on a large number of different projects with access to gear that otherwise would be impossible since joining Lions Creative in early 2019. My showreel consists of footage from the Sony a7III, DJI Mavic Pro, and the DJI Inspire 2, and was edited and colour-graded in Final Cut Pro X.

SCOTLAND 2019

Last summer, my wife and I had the opportunity to take her parents and our close friend Sean to Scotland for ten days. We retraced our steps from a previous visit in 2017 from my hometown of Forfar through the Highlands, hitting some popular landmarks like Loch Lomond and Glencoe, before reaching the Isle of Skye. My motivation to create this short travel film was to showcase the natural beauty that Scotland offers, in hope that someone may watch the film and be inspired to visit Scotland. All clips are shot with a Sony a7III and a DJI Mavic Pro. Edited and colour-graded in Adobe Premiere Pro.

1-MINUTE WEDDING TEASER

With every wedding I have shot at Lions Creative, it's always been important to try and get the bride and groom their one-minute teaser film sent to them as soon as possible. Taking the best clips of the day but without giving away too much, I'll mix and fade the song of choice to create a shorter, one-minute version before laying out the b-roll. These teasers are perfect for sharing on social media and with family and friends before they receive their full highlight film.

WHAT IS KNOXVILLE FUTSAL?

My collection of videos wouldn't be complete without some reference to soccer. Over the past 18 months, I have worked closely with Knoxville Futsal and Southern Futsal to increase the exposure of Knoxville Futsal and their plans to change youth sports in the Knoxville area. This project was filmed on the Sony a7III and edited in Final Cut Pro X.

WEDDING HIGHLIGHT FILM

This was probably my favourite wedding of 2019. My first year of filming weddings was coming to a close and after a three-hour drive to the outskirts of Charlotte, I arrived at the Providence Cotton Mill to a small gathering of only close friends and family. I had the pleasure of capturing a very unique wedding in an incredibly dramatic venue to provide Devin and Matt with an everlasting memory of their special day. With all weddings I have shot, I used the Sony a7III as my primary camera, two Sony a7sII cameras as my secondary cameras, and recorded audio through Sennheiser lavalier wireless microphones and a Zoom H5 recorder.
